SOSSEGO
With an organic approach to her work, SOSSEGO emerges as a natural continuation of Raquel Poço’s previous collections, revisiting textures and techniques that appeared in earlier pieces but were not fully developed. With a fluid working method, Raquel draws inspiration from her surroundings and allows the pieces to take on a life of their own, starting by experimenting with shapes and sizes, often letting the initial idea evolve—such as a necklace that suddenly transforms into earrings.
The jeweler explores fragrances, sensations, and favorite memories to create jewelry that is the truest representation of herself, appealing to a sensory perception of the objects through imagery. Brain, eyes, ears, mouth, nose, and skin are the essential tools in constructing what we understand as reality, and so we turn inward to discover both ourselves and the world.
DIE SAMMLUNG
The Sossego collection unfolds through the five senses: Sight, Touch, Hearing, Taste and Smell. Each chapter explores a different way of slowing down, being present and reconnecting with what surrounds us.
From the shapes and textures that spark Raquel’s creative process, to the intimacy of touch, the memories awakened by sound and the emotions carried through taste, each sense becomes a different expression of sossego: a moment of pause, attention and connection.
